Year July 2016 Colaboration JULIAN PRIETO, THILO GUMBSCH, DANIEL JIMÉNEZ + JAIME OLIVERA
The UMA (University of Málaga) extends along the extension of the Avda. De Andalucía that communicates it with the Historic Center of the City of Málaga.
The site that occupies us is the result of a Special Plan that extends to the West the current University Campus, and within it, is situated the action that is proposed as the PARLIAMENT and PARANINFO of the University.
These volumes are inserted in a triangular-shaped floor of 30,106.00 m2, affected by the urban planning parameters that come out of the Special Planning and that must previously be framed within a Detail Study.
As can be seen, both the Arroyo de los Caños and the old road to Cartama (renamed as Avda. De Andalucía in its foray into the city of Málaga) and the rosary of the lagoons are distributed from North to South in the territory, are The geographical and landscape features that characterize the urbanized territory for the expansion of the UMA, which have somehow indicated the zoning parameters of the special planning, independently of those that facilitate the connection of the new soils with the general systems of the city.
In this sense both the layout of the metropolitan line that crosses from E to W the expanded terrain with the inclusion of three stops, as the connections with the street Navarro Ledesma closing by the North the action and the extension of the Avenue of Plutarco to Through Dolores Rodríguez de Aragón street and whose axis ends by tracing a pedestrian access between the V-6 and SIPS-3, end up by configuring the future of the actions to be developed.
Our area of āāaction can be considered as the center of gravity of the entire urban structure, and as such we understand the importance of the implementation of the Governing Body of the UMA, Rectorate and its Auditorium.
Therefore, we want to make a Detail Study very respectful with the general lines proposed in the Special Plan, but in what concerns our site (SIPS-3) with an area of āā30,106.00 m2., We could not forget the Large area (V-6) of the contiguous plot with 43,262.00 m2. Which sums up the considerable amount of 73,368.00 m2, and which separates us just a pedestrian road, which rather than segregating, what invites us is that both sides go hand in hand, and try to recover in its extension something Of the landscape characteristics around the existing lagoon, proposing a sum that offers the opportunity to create a good garden where to raise the Rectorate and the Paraninfo.
